For reference the base hole size for pawn is 10 mm diameter, 10.5 mm depth. Chips have to be trimmed for installation in the pawns for smooth functioning. However, for all other pieces, the base hole size is 12 mm diameter and 16 mm depth. These measurements are approximate and may vary slightly due to handmade nature of the product. However these have tested to work well with the chessnut sensor chip set.
